Two Bangladeshi startup firms, 10 Minute School and Shajgoj have been shortlisted for Sequoia Capital’s acclaimed Surge accelerator program. This year’s Surge Accelerator cohort included a total of 20 businesses from Southeast Asia, including these two from Bangladesh.
10 Minute School And Shajgoj Selected by Surge for Seed Funding
A total of $60 million will be invested in the 20 shortlisted firms. These firms’ founders will also get a 16-week online program offered by Surge, which will begin on January 27. Surge has already featured 112 firms with 246 founders and has reviewed over 10,000 companies in the United States, Australia, India, Malaysia, Thailand, Taiwan, Bangladesh, and other countries with this sixth cycle.
10 Minute School and Shajgoj will get initial capital of $1-2 million, as well as multiple corporate workshops, global immersion tours, and assistance from a network of accomplished investors and co-founders, once the program is completed.
10 Minute School
10 Minute School is an online learning platform that offers students in grades 1 through 12 curriculum-based instruction. It also offers exam preparation and skill development classes to university admissions hopefuls.
Shajgoj
Shajgoj, a beauty e-commerce portal, is a local retailer of worldwide cosmetics and makeup brands. The business also sells feminine hygiene products, body sprays, and personal healthcare goods.
