Empowering Entrepreneurs – Unveiling the Annual Startup Wheel Competition in Vietnam

The Startup Wheel, a prominent annual startup competition for startups and young entrepreneurs worldwide, spans a duration of six months, running from March to August. Initially introduced by the Business Startup Support Centre (BSSC), the Young Businesspeople Association (YBA), and Investment Business Partners (IBP), it has evolved into Vietnam’s largest and most esteemed startup competition. This event holds particular significance for the younger generation with a fervor for entrepreneurship.

Established in 2013, Startup Wheel stands as Vietnam’s largest startup competition, drawing more than 1,500 Vietnamese and international startups each year. The comprehensive 6-month program encompasses a range of activities aimed at fostering the growth of startups within Vietnam and facilitating their integration into the regional ecosystem.

Startup Wheel startups, sourced globally and spanning various industries, are stage-agnostic. The competition, designed to attract the most promising startups, features two distinct tracks:

Vietnam Track: This track focuses on accelerating local startups, propelling them into the next phase of development by providing support in gaining traction and fundraising.

International Track: Geared towards international startups, this track offers opportunities for expanding their business into the Vietnamese market and establishing connections within the startup ecosystem of Southeast Asia.

Security and commitment

In agreeing to participate in the competition, Candidates acknowledge and consent to the use of their broadcast lives, interviews, photographs, records, films, and exhibition publishments by the Organizers. These materials may be reproduced for news, narration, promotional purposes, television programs, advertisements, and across various platforms, including the competition website. The Organizer, its partners, and all related parties are absolved of any responsibility arising from the photographing, recording, filming, or publishing of photos, recordings, and videos associated with the competition.

Upon submission of the business plan, the brief introduction of Candidates within the document is considered a summary that can be widely used in relevant competition documents. The Organizer will distribute copies of business plans, pitch decks, and 2-minute pitching videos to the Board of Judges and the relevant personnel, with a request not to duplicate them further. In instances of fraud, ethics violations, or breaches of the law within the competition framework, the Organizer reserves the right to unilaterally revoke the Candidate’s participation rights and take appropriate legal action.
