Bangladesh’s first space sharing platform, Chaya, has raised USD 45K in a pre-seed round from angel investors Mr. Mohammad Maaz Mamoon and Ms. Isra Mamoon.
With a vision to connect space owners with the users who are looking to find and book spaces for their needs. People who own spaces that are unused now they can list them on Chaya’s website. So, people who want to use these spaces for different purposes can request to book them.
More simply, Chaya has created a process for renting and booking spaces. The startup is connecting owners with users and making a great way for profit making structure for everyone. The company, the space owner and the user also can find a budget friendly space.
Mehraab Anwar, COO and co-founder of Chaya, said
“This is a big step in our journey, and we’re excited to be going forward into providing solutions for a major problem that affects thousands of individuals around the country”
The startup is helping individuals/businesses earn money by listing their spaces such as homes, rooftops, restaurants, resorts, photo-studios and more.
Farhia Tabassum, CEO and co-founder of Chaya, said
“We plan to open doors and access to a network of housing that fulfills the needs of people who are struggling to find reliable housing in safe areas,”
The idea for the startup came by the two in early 2019, when they were facing problems toc find a spot to shoot content for a friend’s clothing brand.
Chaya takes a commission of 15% from each booking. And in return, it does the marketing for the space, provides resources to make it easier, maintain the security and make the space more accessible to potential renters who might be interested in renting the space.
