Accenture and Microsoft Through Project Amplify to Help 2 Bangladeshi Startups
Last year, the companies, Accenture and Microsoft Asia, announced that they are going to support 33 startups, which focus on social impact and sustainability across the Asia Pacific region, by helping them scale emerging solutions and business models. The Global Social Entrepreneurship program offers qualified startups access to technology, education, customers, and grants.
The joint initiative, called Project Amplify, extends activities launched in South Asia in 2020 to support entrepreneurs from Singapore, Australia, Japan, Sri Lanka, and more. The initiative has a long-term goal of accelerating Asia’s potential and improving millions of lives by addressing diverse societal challenges.
33 startups will have access to the latest technologies, as well as know-how, expertise and mentoring from Accenture and Microsoft.
Thoughts from the Involved Firms
According to the press release, both firms have shown early evidence of impact by demonstrating how their goods, services, and operations solve critical social or environmental issues.
Sanjay Podder, managing director and technology sustainability innovation lead at Accenture, said that social enterprises faced many challenges, including access to technology and innovation expertise to scale their solutions.
He also added,
“By leveraging the technical expertise and networks of both Accenture and Microsoft, we can help bridge this gap. As these social enterprises expand their reach, we hope to see significant improvement in the status of vulnerable groups in our communities that need support in sustainability, healthcare, education, and agriculture,”
Startups in Bangladesh will get access to the newest technology; the sort that Accenture and Microsoft have to offer, with methods, knowledge, experience, and mentoring; under Project Amplify.
Both Niramoy Health and Praava Health will use the businesses’ help to analyse proofs-of-concept in order to re-imagine and improve their solutions’ effect and social value.
Md Yousuf Faruqu, country managing director at Microsoft Bangladesh, stated,
“At Microsoft, we empower organisations and individuals to achieve more through co-innovations and trusted partnerships. Many of the social enterprises in Project Amplify are focused on solving these issues, and we are honoured to support them with the technology, expertise, and ecosystem they need to scale and make meaningful change.”
Accenture will focus on assisting startups in using technology to address major environmental and societal concerns, as well as to advance organisations’ sustainability goals.
Microsoft‘s participation in Project Amplify is part of its Global Social Entrepreneurship initiative, which aims to assist social entrepreneurs in growing and scaling their businesses so that they may do good throughout the world.
